Announcing Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame 2021 Honorees

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Achievement of Central Ohio (JA) today announced the 2021 Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame Laureates: Patrick Losinski, Chief Executive Officer, Columbus Metropolitan Library and Guy Worley, Retired Chief Executive Officer, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation.

The Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame honors forward-thinking and accomplished community leaders for their contributions to our region’s economic development and their commitment to business excellence. Hall of Fame Laureates are role models for their peers, and ultimately for Central Ohio’s K-12 students that JA serves.

The annual Hall of Fame celebration also recognizes an Educator and Volunteer of the Year. Educators and volunteers are pivotal to the work of Junior Achievement who proudly partners with local employers and school districts to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders to own their future success.

For their outstanding commitment to central Ohio’s students, Tia Holliman, Director of Curriculum, Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools is this year’s Educator of the Year, and Ron Birchfield, Administrative Manager, Pulmonary Services, OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital is the Volunteer of the Year.

JA empowers central Ohio’s students to own their future through work-readiness, financial literacy, and career-preparation programs that take place in the classroom, online, at Junior Achievement, or at an employer’s facility. Many programs are delivered by community and corporate volunteers.

Honorees will be celebrated Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at The Grand Event Center at Grandview Yard at 5:30 PM. Event sponsorship supports the year-round work and mission of Junior Achievement of Central Ohio. Additionally, a portion of all dollars raised through the Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame fund two scholarships given annually to two area high school students to be used towards future education or career certificates. The scholarships are given in honor of our Laureates each year.

About Junior Achievement of Central Ohio

Junior Achievement of Central Ohio (JA) prepares central Ohio K-12 students for the business of life after graduation by convening and aligning government entities, for-profit partners, and educational systems to integrate and implement JA's proven career-preparation, financial literacy and entrepreneurship programs. In the 2019/2020 school year, JA facilitated 26,093 student interactions.

About the Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame

For thirty-four years, JA has honored local business and community leaders by inducting them into the Central Ohio Business Hall of Fame. The 2021 Laureates are Patrick Losinski, Chief Executive Officer, Columbus Metropolitan Library and Guy Worley, Retired Chief Executive Officer, Columbus Downtown Development Corporation. An Educator of the Year, and Volunteer of the Year are also recognized.
