The Accounting Coordinator has a key role in supporting the Finance department with day-to-day accounting functions. This role will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.

The Accounting Coordinator has a key role in supporting the Finance department with day-to-day accounting functions. This role will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and profit and loss statements.
● Post journal entries to the general ledger.
● Codes invoices, sets up new accounts and closes monthly books.
● Processes payroll and prepares necessary payroll reports.
● Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
● Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
● Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, payments, and collections.
● Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, balance sheet accounts, and general ledger entries.
● Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and accruals.
● Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for audits and internal controls.
● Prepare and distribute regular financial reports for internal stakeholders.
● Assist with budget tracking, expense reporting, and financial analysis.
● Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate coding and reporting of expenses.
● Provide support for audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
● Assist with annual 990 tax filing.
● Assist with the annual audit by gathering necessary account information and documents.
● Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
● Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned
Qualifications (required)
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
● 2+ years of experience in accounting or finance support role
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
● Experience working with a non-profit finance organization preferred
Qualifications (desired)
● Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
● Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
● Excellent written and verbal communication skills
● Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
● Experience working with Sage Intacct preferred
