Make an impact with your team

Bring your team together to inspire the next generation! Corporate and community volunteer groups play a big role at Junior Achievement. When your organization gives time through JA, you help students build real-world skills and show your support for strong, local communities.

Group volunteer opportunities

JA Biztown® – Learning Center (Columbus or newark)

After learning about money, businesses, and jobs at school, 5th graders enjoy a visit to JA BizTown at either our Columbus or Newark Learning Center, where they experience being an adult for the day. Volunteers guide students as they operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor, helping students connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

JA Finance Park® – Learning Center (Columbus or Newark)

Educators first teach personal finance lessons to their middle or high school classes. Then students are immersed in a simulation at either the Columbus or Newark Learning Center, where they experience making grown-up decisions while attempting to stick to a budget. Students are assigned a persona that includes educational background, career choice, income, debt, and family makeup, and move through the simulation by making purchasing decisions along the way.

JA in a day – classroom

In this style of program, volunteers adopt a set of classrooms at a local elementary or middle school, and, in teams of two, deliver a JA program consisting of five or more 30 to 45-minute sessions in one school day. JA’s programs are centered around financial health, career readiness, or entrepreneurial thinking and include fun games and engaging activities designed to mesh into each grade level’s state and national standards.

JA Career Speaker® – classroom

JA Career Speaker volunteers visit a classroom one time to present their personal education pathway and career story to the students with plenty of opportunities for Q&A.

You can sign up as an individual or a group of volunteers.
