Building real-world foundations early

Junior Achievement’s K-5 programs are designed to align with classroom learning and support Ohio educators. Created with input from national education experts, this grade-specific curriculum builds skills year after year in a way that’s easy to follow and teach.

Programs are available in two flexible formats to fit your school’s needs. The JA in a Day model brings the full program into the classroom and can be led by either educators or trained JA volunteers. Alternatively, JA BizTown includes a field trip to a JA Learning Center (Columbus or Newark), where students apply what they’ve learned in a ‘mini city’.

All programs are offered at little to no cost to schools. To see how JA aligns with learning goals, view the Ohio Academic Standards and JA Elementary School Programs.

ja BIZTOWN® (Grades 4-6)

JA BizTown® combines in-class learning with a day-long field trip to a simulated town at either our Columbus or Newark Learning Centers. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.
